What does home mean to you?

I feel home at different places. I feel at home in our apartment in the Amsterdam canals, with our crooked floors, and it creaks when the wind blows. But I really miss nature in this place. My grandmother has a beautiful little house with a garden just outside the city (Dutch translation: tuinhuisje). We love being here, especially during Summer, but also during the colder season in Autumn and Winter.

I feel very at home here. Actually, I always feel at home when surrounded by nature.

What does love mean to you?

Where I feel comfortable and at home, is where I feel love and loved. I feel really comfortable with my boyfriend, I can be completely myself when we're home. And now that we have a daughter together it has another layer of love.

Also because we want her to feel our love and that she grows up and feels comfortable and at home with us.

Can you share something that no one really knows about you?

If you really know me, then you know that I like to put people at ease. I find it really important that other people feel comfortable. Sometimes it does effects me in a way, that I do what other people like instead of listening to myself. It's not a bad trait, but I'm more inclined to be there for other people.

What do you admire about yourself?

I admire that I'm very positive. When other people are worried about things, I'm usually the one that says: it's going to be alright. It's a trait that I like having, because I feel like I have a lot of trust in what's to come.

What thoughts are going through your mind lately?

I like to keep myself busy with the environment and the way our food is produced. I think it should be done in a very different way. Next year I'm also going to do a study to become a biological farmer.

What's your motto in life?

Staying positive. I think you have to take life with a grain of salt!

What are some every day things that make you happy?

I love being in the kitchen. My boyfriend and I met when we worked in the kitchen at the same restaurant. It's something we love doing together and what makes us happy. But little things like doing the groceries also makes me very happy. Getting to choose yummy ingredients and cooking with it.
